Pond at Bhaktapur- Siddha Pokhari


It's a holy pond (built by king Yakshya Malla) situated a few minutes walk from the Durbar Square of Bhaktapur. It's also a biggest pond in the city, full of colorful fish of different species. This pond is one of the major tourist attraction in Bhaktapur, where many people come to enjoy their holiday, and  feed fish-food to them. It is believed that, when we make a wish and go round the pond, our wish will turn into a reality. And also, when we feed the fish during August, all the obstacles and deterrent of the very year will be solved.
This place is also a popular dating spot, where many couples are seen-isolated from this world, lost into their own fictional world, murmuring to each other in a word we hardly can grasp. Also, It's also a popular picnic spot, as there's a big park and green environment where we can enjoy the best picnic. The pond is somehow rectangular in shape (275m*92m), with several benches at the edge, where we can watch the fish, making different sound inside the water, asking for more food. And, when we throw some food scraps at them, they with take their snout out from the water, open their mouth wide and gulp down the food.
